Here are a two examples do our rewriting process. The students are writing their first draft in their "little books" and next week we will publish our final copy in our big books.

Mentor Author - Eric Carle
We have read several books related to insects by he famous author, Eric Carle. He has a magical way of teaching us information throughout his fantasy texts. We know this genre as literary nonfiction. He children were inspired by him to create their own literary nonfiction texts. Here is our journey so far...

We have a book illustrated by Eric Carle that Matthew found on his book shelf. He was so excited to read it and tell me all about Eric Carle. I was impressed by the knowledge he had about Eric Carle and the things he pointed out to me in the book. Mrs. Daniel and Mrs. Roper, you are doing an awesome job and the children are learning so much from the two of you. Thank you.
